College football notebook: Nebraska RB charged in revenge porn case

Nebraska freshman running back Maurice Washington has been charged in Santa Clara County, California, with “revenge porn” for allegedly sending a video to his ex-girlfriend that shows her being sexually assaulted.According to NBC’s Bay Area affiliate, Washington is not in the video and is not the person who recorded it. His attorney denied that he was involved in the assault.He is alleged to have sent the video to the young woman last March when he was in high school, still angry that she had broken up with him. Washington reportedly sent her the video with the message, “Remember this hoe (sic),” according to the NBC affiliate.Nebraska assistant athletic director for communications Keith Mann issued a statement Monday that stated the school knew of the investigation last fall and was now looking into the charges that were filed.–Wisconsin offensive lineman Jon Dietzen announced that he is retiring from football, citing numerous injuries throughout his career.Dietzen is forgoing his fifth-year senior season. He has had surgery on both hips and also sustained ankle and other injuries.
