As a rock station, we wouldn’t normally talk about Mariah Carey, but after seeing her performance last night on ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,’ we’d be stupid not to.
Carey was the broadcast’s headliner and seemed to have issues immediately upon taking the stage.
It’s fairly obvious that the singer is lip synching, though it becomes even more obvious throughout the performance, as she completely misses parts of songs and even lowers her mic at one point, while the vocals continue to play behind her.

Though she was probably incredibly pissed off behind-the-scenes, Carey took to Twitter to make it seem like these sorts of things just happen sometimes:

Many consider Carey’s performance the perfect end to 2016, which was an awful year for almost everyone.
