Salons and Barbershops In the Great Lakes Bay Region Can Reopen on June 15th

Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed a new order today, which will allow salons, barbershops, and other personal service businesses in the Great Lakes Bay Region to open their doors on June 15th.

In northern Michigan and the Upper Peninsula, those businesses will be able to open on June 10th, as they move into Phase 5 of the state’s reopening plan.

According to WNEM TV5, This new order also discusses different safeguards that will need to be put into place for gyms, movie theaters, and other businesses to reopen in the coming weeks.

During a press conference on Friday, June 5th, Whitmer stated that she expected the entire state to move into Phase 5 in ‘the coming weeks.’
