The Undertaker May or May Not Have Just Officially Announced His Retirement from Professional Wrestling

In the final episode of The Last Ride on the WWE Network, The Undertaker says he has ‘no desire to get back in the ring.’ So, does that mean he’s retired? Maybe. Maybe not.

Though he says he has no interest in returning to the ring, Mark Calaway, known to millions of professional wrestling fans around the world as The Undertaker, does leave the door open just a little bit.

For starters, he doesn’t once actually mention the word ‘retired.’ Sure, he says he doesn’t want to get back in the ring, but that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s done. He goes on to say that ‘only time will tell’ if he’d return to the ring, especially if the WWE and Vince McMahon needed him.

If you ask me, I think ‘The Boneyard Match’ with AJ Styles was the perfect way to end The Undertaker’s career. Unlike previous in-ring matches with Roman Reigns and Bill Goldberg, the match wasn’t difficult to watch. It was obvious in those matches and others that The Undertaker simply wasn’t the performer he once was. In ‘The Boneyard Match,’ they were able to control things a bit more, because the match was taped ahead of time.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that I hope this is the end for The Undertaker. We’ve all watched Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair continue to get back into the ring, only to embarrass themselves and tarnish their great legacy. Please don’t let that happen to ‘The Dead Man.’
