Governor Gretchen Whitmer is expected to announced relaxed COVID-19 restrictions at a press conference this afternoon (3/2), which will include allowing restaurants to open indoor dining to 50% capacity.

According to The Detroit Free Press, Whitmer will also announce that other businesses outside of the restaurant industry will be able to accept more customers, as well. Private gatherings will also have less restrictions.

Restaurants and bars can also now stay open until 11 p.m. Previously, they had to stop serving at 10 p.m.

The announcement comes as vaccine rollout continues across the state.
