You’ll Have to Wait an Extra Week to Watch ‘Mortal Kombat’

Though no real reason has been given, the release date for Mortal Kombat has now been pushed back one week.

Mortal Kombat will now arrive in theaters and on HBO Max on Friday, April 23rd, as opposed to Friday, April 16th. Some are suggesting that the reason the release date is being pushed back is to give movies like Zak Snyder’s Justice League and Godzilla vs. Kong an extra week, so they can get as many views as possible before Mortal Kombat hits.

Variety also suggests that the production company may be hoping that capacity restrictions are relaxed a bit before releasing the film and delaying the release one week could help.
